Climbing photography is to me a way of further exploring the overwhelming feeling of smallness we experience on the wall. Precarious alone and fragile, stranded on a sea of rock or ice, we gain insight into our place in nature. My photography aims to highlight these contrasting qualities we find first in the mountain world, and then in ourselves; ephemerality and permanence, fragility and strength, brutishness and gentleness, suffering and the sublime.
